Honolulu Airport Rental Car Garage

Project data

Location: Honolulu, United States

Contrack Watts faced several challenges for the construction of this CONRAC (Consolidated Rent-a-Car) Parking Garage in Honolulu, Hawaii. More than 29 different beam configurations in a 210,000 sq. ft. quick turnaround area with limited access area required a highly flexible solution.

Requirements

This led the contractor to pick PERI’s GARAGEDECK system. Daniel Terry, Senior Superintendent at Contrack Watts says “Because it’s a wood based system it is easily modifiable, allowing for penetrations through the system which you cannot do with a steel based or framed out system”. Consequently, GARAGEDECK is also much lighter than most competing systems, allowing a single forklift to move beams and tables without the need for a crane.

Customer's benefit

The customer was able to get it down to a very small and manageable crew that was able to perform the operation of stripping and resetting the forms with minimal hours and handling. Being able to use forklifts made for a much more economical way to handle the forms.

Daniel Terry
Senior Superintendent

“We have had such a success using the PERI system that we would gladly choose PERI again in the future to construct another CONRAC anywhere in the World.”

PERI solution

  • PERI GARAGEDECK

The 16 ft. high bays were achieved with single MULTIPROP legs that simply hinge up when the forms are moved to their next location. This is unique to PERI’s system as most other systems would require some assembly and disassembly.
