DUO Lightweight Handset Formwork

Overview

Engineered polymer replaces steel, aluminum and plywood

Lumber, steel, aluminum and plywood have been the standard for decades in the US when it comes to formwork due to the lack of cost effective and sturdy alternatives. PERI is challenging this notion with its brand new Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) formwork system “DUO”. The engineered plastic achieves its strength through fiber reinforcements, thus allowing a permissible concrete pressure of 1050 PSF for walls and 1650 PSF for columns while maintaining the lightweight attributes of polymer.

Lightweight, Handset System

With only 4 lbs per sq. ft. and conveniently shaped standard panel sizes of about 3 ft. x 4½ ft., DUO is a true handset system, specifically designed to be handled without the need for a crane. If crane time happens to be available, entire sections can conveniently be lifted as gang forms using a simple crane hook connector.

Labor friendly

Very few parts and pieces and an intuitive assembly sequence makes DUO ideal for markets with a shortage of skilled labor. Instead of hammered-in wedges and clamps, DUO panels are connected using a red coupler that resembles a door handle in both appearance and in the simplistic motion in which it is installed.

Flexible Application

One of the truly unique features of DUO is the ability to use the same panels for walls, columns and slabs – with only a few extra parts required for the conversion, this not only saves on initial investment costs but also on storage space and trucking costs down the road.

Silent System

For the most part, DUO is assembled with no tools, resulting in significant noise reduction on the job site, which in turn makes DUO a preferable solution in areas where construction noise is a concern (i.e. residential).

RFID technology for DUO

Scan. Identify. Go.
Think digital with RFID for DUO.

RFID technology helps to make the material flow on the construction site more transparent and to optimise logistics processes. The key: an RFID tag, a smartphone or UHF reader and the PERI MATERIAL SCAN app.

This allows for quick product identification and takes your logistics processes to the next level. For this purpose, the DUO panels are provided with an RFID tag so that they can subsequently be clearly identified and assigned with a reader.

Furthermore, thanks to the RFID tags, it is possible to call up specific component information, assembly and usage instructions and product videos digitally in the PERI MATERIAL SCAN app by scanning the panels.

Your advantages at a glance:

  • Simple identification and bulk detection of the panels thanks to the use of RFID tags
  • Optimised logistics processes according to the Track & Trace principle by scanning the formwork material in the incoming and outgoing goods department
  • Fast and digital access to product information using the PERI MATERIAL SCAN app

An RFID retrofit kit is available for your DUO stock material, with which you can easily and independently add RFID tags to your panels.
