VARIOKIT Pier System VPS

Overview

VARIOKIT Pier System (VPS) is a high-performance system that combines the advantages of self-spanning formwork and the traditional dancefloor formwork.

VPS consists of two possible configurations: VARIOKIT Speed Stage (VSS) for the construction of bridge pier caps without shoring from below and VARIOKIT Speed Column (VSC) for the efficient production of bridge piers as well as large columns.

Because the system is based on the VARIOKIT engineering construction kit, almost all project requirements can be met with rentable solutions.

VSS Configuration

The VARIOKIT Speed Stage (VSS) configuration is optimized for the production of multicolumns and hammer heads of bridge pier caps. VSS allows short cycle times. It is also fast and easily assembled. Pre-assembly can be carried out conveniently on the ground, thus access safety is built-in before lifting and installation of the cap system.

VSS also allows for a comfortable way of reinforcement work because the side formwork is only closed after completion of the reinforcement work. In addition, the side formwork is system-independent and can be stripped and reused as early as the next day after concreting. Another feature that adds to this is innovative Split-Soffit methodology of VSS.This leads to a minimum number of required formwork sets while at the same time ensuring fast construction progress at the highest safety level.

VSC Configuration

This configuration is suited for the efficient production of bridge piers and large columns.

VSC allows for fast handling and high concreting speed and is very flexible. It is built by the same components as the Speed Stage configuration. Different column cross-sections can be realized in 2'' increments without anchors.

Another advantage of VSC is the high quality concrete finish. In combination with PERI InSite Construction (ISC) Pressure Sensors (coming soon), the concreting process can be optimized further.
