Park Tower at Transbay Block 5, San Francisco, California

Park Tower at Transbay Block 5
San Francisco, United States

The 605-ft Park Tower now under construction at the corner of Howard and Beale Streets is a 45-story Class A+ office building adjacent to TransbayTerminal and City Park. The tower will feature 14 exclusive sky decks and more than 50,000 sq.ft. of outdoor and open space. A three-cell core for elevators near the center of the tower has walls that range in thickness from 3 ft 6 in at the base to 2 ft 6 in higher up. It reduces to a single core at level 27.

Using PERI’s VARIO Wall Formwork and ACS Self-Climbing systems for the core walls – the ACS Core 400 system on the interior and the ACS-R on the exterior – enables the contractor to climb ahead of the slabs and the rest of the building work without having to schedule crane time. Being able to pre-assemble the VARIO Wall Formwork and the ACS systems has been instrumental to the success of the project.

PERI’s ACS three-celled core wall system was excellent. From concept drawings, engineering, on-site technical service, and field installation, they took safety and efficiency to a high level. PERI hit home runs with their deliveries and customer service.
