Biscayne Beach, Miami, FL

Project data

Location: Miami, FL, United States

Designed to become Miami’s premier city beach club residence, the 52-story Biscayne Beach is located on the city shores of Biscayne Bay in the emerging bayside neighborhood of East Edgewater. Its 399 luxury residences offer downtown waterfront living that includes a manmade beachfront and interior designs by Thom Filicia, Inc.

Requirements

Using lightweight aluminum MULTIPROP towers of varying heights with VARIOKIT tables and PERI Plywood, PERI provided a forming solution for the challenging construction of the ribbon roof structure above level 52. The 2-ft-thick roof structure soars over private rooftop terraces, sloping in multiple directions and peaking more than 40 ft above the supporting slab of level 52 and 500 ft above ground level. It also cantilevers beyond the level 52 slab edge, which presented additional difficulties to the contractor. PERI’s unique and creative table solution allowed each table to transition into the constantly changing slopes. Tables were preassembled, which allowed for a simplified solution for a very elaborate and complicated structure.
