For the construction of a one story podium for an apartment building, first time SKYDECK users Jos. J. Albanese chose PERI due to their requirement for an easy, fast, lightweight handset slab formwork system. With SKYDECK components being made of aluminum and no component weighing more than 33 lbs, the system allows for rapid forming, while the drophead enables early stripping of the panels with the shores remaining in place. The contractor rented 41,600 ft² of SKYDECK to pour approximately 80,000 ft² in four pouring segments and achieves two way slab soffit slopes of up to 6“ in 14‘. The continuous thread of the light-weight MULTIPROP posts enables the client to grade the shoring off of the sloped slab on grade.
