Tunnel Limerick, Ireland - Tunnel formwork carriage on the basis of the VARIOKIT civil engineering construction kit for the six additional concreting sections at the southern portal carried out parallel to the construction of the main tunnel elements.
Tunnel Limerick, Ireland - Five tunnel elements - each 100 m long – were pre-fabricated in the dry dock with help of the PERI tunnel formwork carriage.
Tunnel Limerick, Ireland - PERI engineers developed two customized special carriages which allowed the construction of the 28 concreting sections, each 20 m long, in regular six-day cycles.
Tunnel Limerick, Ireland - The PERI formwork solution took into consideration two different sealing versions for the element and casting joints in the stopend formwork.

Fabrication as immersed-type tunnel with 5 tunnel elements of a length of 100 m each, ramp sections in open, partly monolithic construction.

  • structure: dual tube, each tube with a clear width of about 10m and a height of about 6m
  • length: 675 m
  • number of lanes: 2 for each direction
  • construction period: 2006 - 2010

  • pouring in weekly cycles
  • optimisation of tie points to ensure tightness of the tunnel
