UNIPORTAL Tables, Simple, Safe and Fast Cycle Times
Construction of the 55 West on the Esplanade in downtown Orlando began in mid-2005. The project is a 35 story mixed use commercial / residential tower adjacent to a 12 story parking garage.
The 9“ (23 cm) post-tensioned slabs were formed using UNIPORTAL tables of a typical 24 ft x 26 ft (7.30 m x 7.90 m) size throughout the 32,000 ft² (2,975 m²) floorplan. The highly versatile and maneuverable table stripping and transportation trolley was used to guide the tables to the slab edge where the 1.75 t Lifting Fork flew them to the next level.

There were 55 tables on site and all were cycled from floor to floor in just two days to meet the 5-day construction schedule. Safety was always maintained at the slab edge with attached handrails flying with the perimeter tables. The quick connect design of the UNIPORTAL swivel head allowed efficient shore changes for the tables after the 20 ft (6.10 m) high plaza level. There were 10 ft (3 m) typical floor to floor heights throughout all other levels of the structure. There will be over 58,000 yd³ (44,344 m³) of concrete poured to complete this project in 2008.
