Flexible self-climbing units
adjust to the construction sequence

The site of the new First National Bank building lies in the business quarter of Omaha. The 193 m high building with 45 storeys provides over 92,900 m² of office space and basement parking for 300 cars.

The core size is 27.86 x 12.03 m with normal floor heights of 4.11 m. Kiewit ordered 934 m² of PERI VARIO girder wall formwork on ACS self-climbing units for the 810 mm thick walls. The height of the formwork units was 4.80 m. This allowed the floors of different heights to be also formed.

The PERI planning team designed a wage and material-saving solution for the numerous door and window openings: the blockouts could be folded back and climbed together with the formwork to the next cycle.

PERI Systems In Use
  • ST 100 Stacking Tower
  • PERI arranged the ACS units that the external and internal units can be raised independently of each other. This allowed a flexible adjustment to the construction sequence at any time.
The eight external units were climbed first. The raised working platforms in the shafts provided extra working space on which reinforcement, steel installation components and blockouts could be safely installed.
The high safety standards of the ACS system and the simple operating of the hydraulic mechanism were the decisive points for placing this order.
