Modular SKYDECK Slab Formwork System
Used on Difficult Floor Layout

The Scottsdale Waterfront Residence project located in Scottsdale, Arizona presented a situation in that Opus West construction needed a slab system that could adapt to the difficult floor layout designed on this structure. Every floor of this building had a changing floor layout.

For this project, PERI Formwork Systems supplied over 65,000 ft² (6,000 m²) of SKYDECK slab formwork system. The advantage of the system is seen when using it on a difficult floor layout. The modular panels can be rearranged into the necessary configuration easily and quickly. The perimeter area of the slab was formed using the UNIPORTAL system. This allowed the contractor to fly smaller units and therefore keep on schedule.

Another system supplied to this project was the TRIO column formwork system. Columns varied from 18“ x 18“ (45 cm x 45 cm) to 30“ x 48“ (75 cm x 120 cm).
This difference in column size was easily overcome by using only one system (TRIO Column) for this project.

„Using the light weight SKYDECK system we were able to increase our productivity and stay ahead of our aggressive schedule. We especially like the great versatility and experienced a very short learning curve in using this system. The technical support and site supervision we have received from PERI‘s team has been above and beyond anything experienced before from a supplier.“
