SKYDECK and TRIO - Modular Systems Offer Labor Savings
Arizona State University will offer freshmen for the fall semester in 2006 the opportunity to live in the new McAllister Academic Village. This new facility will house upwards of 2,000 students, providing them with 586,000 ft² (55,000 m²) of academic and residential space. Concrete Structures Inc. have been tasked to deliver the 5 concrete structures on this site. In order to meet and exceed the scheduled deadlines, it was their decision to use PERI to supply all slab and wall forming systems for this project.
PERI supplied the modular SKYDECK slab formwork system and the modular TRIO wall system in order to ensure labor savings through simply designed systems. The learning curve for using these two systems proved to be minimal. Using a modular system allows for flexibility on jobsites along with repetition.
