System components ensure economy
“We want to make living dreams come true.” This is the new concept that was to be realized with the construction of this avantgarde building, as well as extraordinary offers and events. Apart from the conservatory, gallery, atrium and Italian style trattoria, a 23 m high tower of 14 m diameter forms the visual highlight of the project. The tower, which will act as a gallery for constantly changing art exhibitions, has seven floors of different heights between 3.27 and 4.28 m. In other words, this was no every-day project in which the skeleton frame had to be completed in a time schedule of only 75 working days.
SKYDECK with MULTIPROP props was used for the five floors of the main building with different superficial areas, cantilevers, offsets and varying heights. The MULTIPROP props could be quickly altered into towers through the installation of MRK frames in areas with greater heights. The slabs were divided into two cycles of 700 m² each, to make the best economical use of the formwork, which were completed each week.
The 240 mm thick walls of the gallery tower grew in height with climbing formwork technology to match the time schedule and to the exact measurements. The 3.60 m high RUNDFLEX on the ground floor was adjusted to the concreting height of 3.75 m from the 1st floor onwards by extending with 0.60 m units and extension splices. The loads were carried by KGF 240 climbing scaffolding. A saving in time was found in the outer climbing formwork being used as edge formwork until the slab had been concreted.
