Public use – Elevated walkway scaffold system for Expo 2000

The architect, who is also the owner of the German Pavilion, Josef Wund, demonstrated with his contribution to the EXPO 2000 his preference for slender lightweight constructions.

Part of the 24,000 m² of floor space was set aside for the Pre-Show area. This area contained sculptures, some as tall as 8.00m, and examples of the works of German personalities. This part of the exhibition was accessed by three independent walkways on three different levels incorporating areas where the visitor could stop to contemplate the exhibits.

The PERI Engineers found a way to maintain the leight-weight appearence and feel of the building with the structural specification required for public use.

To achieve the most cost effective solution standard components were used adding a minimal number ofspecial parts.
