Walls and Slabs Poured Monolithically Using ACS-G – The Automatic Climbing System with Gallow
The Shoreham is one of the first two high rises being constructed on the Lake Shore East Development area in downtown Chicago, IL. This 49-story condominium tower is designed with floor to ceiling glass and vertical bands of exposed concrete with two sets of recessed balconies. PERI was awarded the contract to supply the forming solution for the walls, decks, core structure and facade.
The various systems supplied by PERI included SKYDECK for the underground parking levels, MULTIFLEX for the upper levels, TRIO and custom DOMINO for the interior walls and VARIO including ACS-G for both core structures and the KG 240 climbing bracket for the external shear walls. The ACS-G (gallow) system was designed with the internal panel having an offset, thereby allowing the wall and floor to be poured monolithically. This design feature enabled the client to pour various floor heights by simply adding extension splices to the top of the VARIO panel.
