State Place Condominium Project, Chicago, IL
Innovative Box Culvert Solution for Balconies
A major residential development is currently going on in the Southern section of downtown Chicago. The project consists of 4 residential structures, of which there is a 24-story tower and 34- story condominium buildings. A total of 243 condominiums will be finished by the fall of 2004. In order to achieve this aggressive construction schedule, PERI developed a Box Culvert System that would allow both walls and balcony to be poured simultaneously producing an architectural concrete surface. Each unit could be moved by a single crane pick, thereby ensuring efficient cycling time.
