Sports hall, Aarhus, Denmark

A 4,500 m² working platform was constructed to assemble the 3-D steel truss roof of the new sports hall in Aarhus.
The roof truss components weighed 350 t and were delivered to site and loaded onto the working platform in pallets weighing up to 3.6 t.

The scaffold structure was erected in two parts by four scaffolders in six weeks. The first part being handed over to the steel erectors while the remainder was being completed.
The gap free working platform provided excellent access for the truss construction and was then used to install insulation and electrical/acoustic services allowing concrete works to progress unimpeted.

When planning the scaffold the concrete works were considered and the bracing positions selected to minimise adaptions.
