Difficult Beams and Inclined Slabs Completed in Fast Construction Time
One of the largest shopping centres in southern Germany was opened in the autumn of 2003. With a total sales area of 23,000 m², there is space for 80 retail outlets, service enterprises, restaurants and cafes. There are also parking facilities for 1,000 vehicles. Up to 700 people are employed here.
The centre was built using a combi-construction method. The in-situ elements, such as cores and slabs, had a bracing function throughout. For construction crews casting in-situ, one challenge was keeping up with the fast assembly times of the prefabricated sections. However, this was not a problem for the experienced site personnel through the selective use of the various PERI systems for walls, columns and slabs.

Hans Hergenröder Site Supervisor “I’ve worked with PERI systems over many years. In my experience, it’s the best – well thought-out and technically sound! In the area of wall formwork, TRIO is simply the best there is.”

Difficult and demanding construction details were efficiently realised through the effective use of system formwork. For the time-consuming forming of the beams for the delivery yard slab, 1.10 m high in a 3.50 x 3.50 m grid formation, TRIO panel formwork was used. Good results for the inclined slab areas were achieved using SKYDECK panel slab formwork. The integrated drophead technology reduced the amount of materials required whilst sensibly scheduled concreting cycles resulted in a fast re-use of materials.
Combining RUNDFLEX and TRIO for the walls of the parking area access roads proved to be a big advantage. This provided a smooth and fast transition from circular to straight wall section forming without the need of time-consuming improvisation. |
