Sheppard Underground Railway, Bayview Station, Toronto, Canada
Labor costs reduced Single-faced walls with TRIO and SB Brace Frames
Bayview Station is one of five underground railway stations on the new 6.4 km long Sheppard underground railway line that will be opened in the Summer of 2002. Around 30 million passengers are to be carried here in the first year. The 450 m long station consists of two levels and a flyover tunnel.
Walter Construction, the main contractor for the station to be constructed in the open, drew positive conclusions about the PERI formwork solution after a very short time. Key factors, such as easy handling of erection and stripping and the high flexibility of the system led to labor costs being significantly reduced compared with solutions previously considered.
