PERI SKYDECK – The successful Aluminum Slab Form System for Faster Forming of large Areas
The Bannockburn Center at College Park is a four-story, 270,000 sqft (25,000 m²) corporate center. The floor-to-floor height is 12'' 6" (3.90 m) with a 10'' x 10'' x 15'' (3.05 x 3.05 x 4.57 m) capital around each column. The roof is pitched in both directions to allow for drainage and the central atrium has beams up to 24" (0.60 m) deep around the elevator shafts. The MULTIPROP 350 proved useful in each of those circumstances, providing the necessary shoring height with ease.
The beam, slab and capital design of the structure called for a multisystem approach. The compatibility of the SKYDECK and MULTIFLEX shoring systems made their combination the perfect solution. The MULTIFLEX was erected to shore the beams and capitals, while the SKYDECK was utilized for the extensive flat slab areas. The MULTIFLEX was secured to the SKYDECK using the SKYDECK Edge Beams. This produced a safe and sturdy shoring system that was easily erected and very adaptable.
The early stripping feature of the SKYDECK Drophead allowed a rapid strip-to-set sequence, with the MULTIPROP 350 remaining as re-shore. This permitted 30,375 sqft (2,820 m²) of SKYDECK panels to be cycled in six parts per floor, finishing the job in four months.
