PERI Formwork shortens Construction Schedule by two Months

Construction of three concrete residential towers and a garage was accelerated by careful planning, close coordination of contractors and suppliers, and use of lightweight forming systems.

S&F Concrete Contractors shaved two months from its schedule for forming and placing columns, slabs and shear walls for Museum Towers, a complex of residential buildings facing the landmark Museum of Science. The Towers consist of one, 7-story and two, 26-story structures. Each floor of the high rise structures covers an area of 10,000 sqft (929 m²), while the shorter building has 6,700 sqft-floors (622 m²), and the two story parking garage has 28,000 sqft (2,600 m²) floors.

S&F worked out a plan to maximize the productivity of its crews. “We coordinated the work closely with the suppliers and the rebar installers, and we used lightweight PERI formwork systems which helped to speed things up,” said the company´s project manager Patrick Barb.
