Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas, USA
Flexibility and fast Forming with PERI TRIO and MULTIFLEX First Phase in Construction of 3,000 Hotel Rooms
With two 3-wing tower complexes, each with 36 stories the Venetian Hotel will have 6,000 rooms when completed. The South Tower is a 3,000 room concrete frame hotel with a total slab area of 3,000,000 sqft (278,700 m²). Each typical floor has 85,000 sqft (7,900 m²) of slab and 38,000 sqft (3,530 m²) of walls and is cycled in seven days.
Dick Corporation purchased 25,000 sqft (2,325 m²) of TRIO wall formwork to be used to form the shear walls above the third level. The construction schedule allowed for this package of equipment to be utilized to form the South Tower foundation walls, South Low Rise foundation walls and South Tower shear walls below the third level simultaneously prior to being needed for typical level shear walls.
TRIO was an ideal choice for this project as it could easily be reconfigured for the various applications with pour heights varying from 8´-6” (2.55 m) for the typical level shear walls to 34´-2” (10.80 m) for the shear walls from level 2 to level 3. The Low Rise and South Tower foundation walls varied in heights from 19´-0” (5.70 m) to 22´-6” (6.85 m).
PERI also supplied MULTIFLEX shoring to form the slabs adjacent to the elevator cores and to form and reshore the pour strip bays in each wing. A total of 42,000 sqft (3,900 m²) of MULTIFLEX shoring consisting of GT 24 girders and MULTIPROP 350 and 480 shores is being used over five levels with clear story heights varying from 8´-6” (2.55m) to 34´-2” (10.80 m).
