Perris Recycable Facility in California, USA
PERI TRIO Wall Formwork System: Excellent concrete finish and construction schedule in record time at the Perris Recycable Facility in California
The Perris Recycling Facility separates thousands of pounds of glass, iron, etc. daily to comply with the stringent environmental laws of California. The owner, CR & R Transfer Co. out of Stanton, CA, selected Shook Building Systems as the General Contractor. The concrete contractor, Erick Construction, is specialized in recycling facilities. This is a highly competitive business.
Here at Perris, the retaining walls on each side of the truck ramps are 1200 linear feet (365.80 m) of concrete walls, varying in height from 16 feet (4.90 m) to 23 feet (7.00 m), with a thickness of 16 inches (40 cm). There are also concrete pits that are approximately 20'' x 100'' (6.10 x 30.50 m), 8'' (2.45 m) deep.
Chuck Erick, the owner of Erick Construction, and Marty Mlakar, General Superintendent, selected PERI TRIO for this project. They were familiar with PERI Formwork Systems, having used PERI''s GT 24 VARIO formwork. Erick Construction decided on PERI TRIO because it saved fabrication and dismantling costs, and they did not have to purchase any plywood. They particularly liked the way the forms were coupled together with PERI''s BFD clamp, a unique clamp which fastens, aligns and tightens the panels.
