Free standing cantilevered access tower
to 21.00 m high church spire

The shape and features on church spires vary and require assessment each time.
From the 46.00 m level on the Oviedo cathedral the spire rises independent from the other church structures which prevented the scaffold being supported from ground.

For this reason it was decided to spring the scaffold from the perimeter of the tower beneath the spire.

All of the load of the scaffold to the spire, is transferred to the permanent structure through the inside legs. The scaffold tower follows the shape of the spire using cantilevered bays and console brackets.

Each platform level forms a complete ring around the spire giving the whole scaffold structure its strength.
