RCS together with SKYDECK provides safety and productivity at landmark project

The RCS self-climbing protection panel system was the choice to provide safety to the project in a cost-effective way. RCS panels completely enclose floors under construction providing protection against wind and weather, leading to an increase in productivity and reduction of heating costs during winter. The mobile hydraulic system and self-climbing device provide cost effective, crane-independent climbing.
Because the building rotates by different angles at every floor. PERI engineers had to find an effective solution for anchoring RCS panels to the building. To anchor the RCS panels to building 60 sliding-pivoting rails were used. This simple but effective design allowed for compensating changing geometry of the building on each floor.
For slab formwork the SKYDECK drophead system was chosen. Because striking can be carried out immediately after the slab concrete has reached the required strength the panels can be immediately used for the next cycle resulting in formwork material saving.
Because SKYDECK slab formwork and RCS protective panels have both been designed by PERI, they work in great harmony with each other.
For wall formworks on this project, the innovative MAXIMO panels were chosen to provide the desired concrete finish. Because MAXIMO wall formwork system uses a newly developed tapered tie system, the wall formwork system does not require any spacer tubes and work can take place from only one side resulting in cost reduction

“We decided to use PERI RCS in this project for three reasons: Safety for workers and for the traffic below, productivity to achieve one floor pour in 5 to 6 days and schedule improvement to avoid lost days due to wind or weather conditions.”
