MIT Simmons Hall, Cambridge, MA, USA
Architectural Concrete Project completed economicallyS & F Concrete Construction out of Hudson, MA had to form more than 200,000 sqft (18,580 m²) of floor slabs on this undergraduate residence hall project. This job was especially complicated due to the required architectural concrete finish. Especially the light weight of the aluminum SKYDECK and MULTIPROP System are speeding up the construction process for S & F. For this project, certain exposed slabs needed a special architectural finish, which is why S & F used a Fin-Form plywood liner on top of the panels. In addition to MULTIPROP and SKYDECK, S & F also used TRIO for the walls and HD 200 heavy duty shoring in areas, where precast panels had to be supported.
