Barajas Airport, Madrid, Spain
72 m Long Beams Formed Using Efficient Movable Table Units
As part of the Barajas Airport development project, a new 500,000 m² check-in terminal was planned. The construction design is dominated by 72 m long pre-stressed beams with cross-sections up to 1.95 x 0.90 m. The in-situ concreted beams are supported by massive 8.75 m high reinforced concrete columns and serve to take the pre-cast slabs.
Taking into account the tight construction schedule, PERI provided the contractors with a cost-effective formwork and scaffolding solution for constructing the beams with standard components taken from the PERI rental programme. Efficient and movable PERI UP Rosett tables were designed for the scaffolding to support the beam formwork. On this, SRZ walers and VT 20 girders were fixed to form the working platforms and the bottom formwork of the girders.
