Denver Justice Center, Denver, Colorado
PERI SKYDECK and UNIPORTAL Systems Offer Solution to Various Slab Configurations
The Denver Justice Center consists of two distinct structures: The Detention Facility and the Court House Building. Both buildings broke ground in August 2007 and the concrete work is scheduled to complete by November 2008.
The Detention Facility consists of six levels of 16" (41 cm) concrete slabs with ceiling heights up to 20' (6 m). SKYDECK, along with MULTIPROP 625 post shores allows Hensel Phelps to form and reshore with single props. This solution for the tall shoring is the key to success of this project and is not available from any other formwork supplier. SKYDECK was also used for the 48" (1.22 m) deep beams. Each 65,000 ft² (6,039 m²) floor is divided into four pours and a concrete placement is completed every five days.
PERI is supplying UNIPORTAL shoring tables for the Court House Building which is a seven floor pan deck structure with 45,000 ft² per level. The typical clear story height is 17' (5.1 m) which was shored and reshored with MULTIPROP 480 post shores. In addition, 20,000 ft² (1,858 m²) of VARIO wall formwork was supplied for the five concrete cores which varied in sizes and shapes with the largest measuring 32' (10 m) x 22' (6.7 m).

"It was the first time using the PERI UNIPORTAL shoring tables. Even with the tall slab heights, these tables make it easy for us to get this project completed. PERI came through with what they promised."

"The SKYDECK system works well for our project, especially due to the various deck changes. The columns are not in a consistent layout and SKYDECK was perfect for us, because the versatility if offers. We are able to put up the SKYDECK system much faster than any other panel system I have worked with."
