Crane-Independent and Unsurpassed Safety
In 6-Day Typical Floor Cycles

The Bellevue Towers residential project currently under construction in Bellevue, Washington is comprised of two 449’ (137 m) tall high buildings. The north and south towers, with 42 and 43 floors respectively, have typical floor plates of 11,800 ft² (1,096 m²) and 13,500 ft² (1,254 m²). The subsequently fitted elegant glass facade will provide the cast-in-place concrete frames with a stylish exterior and features floor-to-ceiling windows. These exclusive condominiums will offer a breathtaking view of Seattle and Lake Washington to the west, the Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges to the east and Mount Rainier to the south. The concrete superstructure is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2008 with the residents moving into their condominiums by the fall.

With a comprehensive formwork solution from PERI, Hoffman Construction was able to complete a floor in each tower every six days. PERI is supplied its SKYDECK slab formwork, VARIO wall formwork, ACS Automatic Climbing System and RCS Rail Climbing System. Due to the stringent safety features of each system and the complete enclosure of the upper stories the construction work could be carried out in an extremely safe manner. Project Manager Camerun Davis and Superintendent James McKee are pleased to report that there has not been one single accident on their large-scale construction site, due to this specific reason. The SKYDECK system is designed to maximize productivity and expedite the floor slab construction. The SKYDECK drophead allows the panels to be stripped within days of pouring without releasing the load in the supporting shores. PERI provided two levels of SKYDECK for each tower which can be quickly recovered and reused to maintain the six day construction cycle.

"The RCS protective system offers a secure safety factor that takes away the fear of heights that some or our carpenters may have. You don’t realize the current height that you are working on since you are enclosed by the system. This is a plus for us. The service provided by PERI is extremely helpful and always able to resolve any problems we may encounter. The delivery of the equipment is right on time."
