PERI Jobsite gets Surprise Inspection
from President of United States

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation, much of the levy and flood wall infrastructure in New Orleans needed to be replaced to better prepare the city for future floods. Cajun Constructors, Inc. of Baton Rouge Louisiana was tasked with the $33.5 million dollar turn-key demolition and replacement of the 4,000 ft (1,219 m) N. Claiborne to Florida Ave. floodwall. Three 60 ft (18.30 m) gangs of TRIO, the modular steel panel formwork system, were used to form the 12 ft (3.70 m) high and 2 ft (0.67 m) thick wall. DOMINO, the lightweight and craneless panel system was used on the 1.5 ft (46 cm) tall footings poured in advance of the wall. Over 12,000 yd³ (9,175 m³) of concrete was used in this project and was successfully completed ahead of schedule by June 1, 2006.
