Danube Bridge BAB A8 near Leipheim, Germany
Bridge construction with PERI Perfect in detail, economical in result
The increasing volume of traffic between Ulm and Munich made construction of the six-lane BAB A8 inevitable. A 375 m long bridge had to be constructed over the river Danube for the route to Munich.
Apart from a practical solution for the abutments, pier walls and circular columns, the site trusted the use of PERI cantilevered parapet carriages for the cantilevered parapets of the superstructure.
To the left and right of the traffic lane there were 5.00 m long GKW carriages that were coupled into units.
The work progressed very fast through optimum adjustment or adaptation of the cantilevered parapet formwork and through the easy moving of the units.
